Mindful Art Monday

An event every week that begins at 2:00 pm on Monday, repeating until January 27, 2020
Enjoy creative self-expression and learn mindfulness skills while working on a variety of mindful art projects.
This process will help deepen your self-awareness and creativity and teach you strategies and techniques to manage stress and anxiety.
This workshop includes guided meditations, written reflection exercises, and optional group sharing to help you turn inward,
Join us for a relaxing, mindful experience. Each week we will feature a mindful art experience along with a meditation or mindfulness activity. Some of the types of art projects we will offer are the following: Sand Drawing, Photography Session, Dream Catcher, Mandala’s, Intention Bracelets, Calming Jars, Water Color Painting, and Vision boards.
Drop in classes are $25 or you can purchase 4 sessions for $90.
Research supports that creative art lessens stress:
Drexel University recently led a study examining the effects of making art on stress-related hormones in your body. The results, published in Art Therapy: Journal of the American Art Therapy Association, titled “Reduction of Cortisol Levels and Participants’ Responses Following Art Making,” found that 45 minutes of creative activity significantly lessens stress in the body, regardless of artistic experience or talent. http://To read the full article.
