Aleeza is a graduate of the Catholic University of America’s clinical social work program. Her psychotherapy practice focuses on strengthening the well-being of children, adolescents, young adults, and families. Aleeza also has a special interest in working with schools to help develop strategies that meet the unique needs of children and adolescents. Aleeza specializes in supporting clients struggling with grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. Aleeza’s practice is informed by Child Centered Play Therapy, psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Aleeza also frequently does Play Therapy using Sand Tray Play Therapy.
In addition to private practice, Aleeza has worked in low socio-economic schools with children who have a history of abuse, homelessness, and trauma. Aleeza also has worked as a medical social worker at Children’s National Medical Center in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and with children who have severe physical/mental disabilities.
